Great Books for Kids: Nursery Rhyme Comics
You know you read a lot of books when the librarians at your local library send you a personal email to tell you to pick up your holds because your shelf is full. We read a lot of books. We check out a lot of books from the library. We buy books when we can, but due to limited space, we usually let the library keep our books for us.
Nursery Rhyme Comics: 50 Timeless Rhymes by 50 Celebrated Cartoonists is one of the rare books we had to purchase after checking it out from the library so many times.
Both of my kids adore this book, and even though we’ve owned it for a few years now, they still pick it up from time to time. The illustrations are wonderful. Each rhyme is done by a different cartoonist, so the variation in styles are fantastic. You could almost do an art study on each of these. There are often little jokes and “Easter Eggs” (hidden pictures or messages) inserted as well.
If you’re looking for a good collection of Nursery Rhymes for your elementary aged kids, I highly recommend this one.
